We recently released Botanical Cocktail Kits, which are a wonderful opportunity to use our tea blends in new and exciting ways, and an opportunity for The Urban Cottage to collaborate with a fellow female led business, Botanikos, based in Melbourne, hand making botanically infused simple syrups to elevate your drink making experience.

This is one of the recipes you'll find in the Slàinte kit.

This cocktail is only restricted by your imagination - while we suggest a red wine, you could easily use mead, hard cider, scotch, bourbon, whatever you please. There are even some incredible non-alcoholic versions of these that don't compromise on flavour but save you the hangover if you overindulge.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED//
One tablespoon Slàinte spice blend
750ml fruit-forward red wine
45ml Botanikos Bitter Orange simple syrup
60ml liqueur of choice (optional)
Sweetener like honey, maple syrup, or rice malt syrup to taste (optional)
Fresh citrus slices, rosemary sprigs, and whole spices to garnish (optional)

MAKING YOUR COCKTAIL//
Combine spice blend, wine, and liqueur in a slow cooker on low for 1-3 hours or in a heavy based pot brought gently to a low simmer for 10-15 minutes. Do not boil.
Remove from heat and stir through Botanikos simple syrup, then strain into mugs, garnish and enjoy.
